Rakshabandhan Celebration

Rakshabandhan is a very special occasion which strengthens the intimate bonding between a brother and sister . Traditionally the ceremony is not over , till you sweeten the occasion with a mithai. The sister ties the sacred thread (Rakhi ) around the wrist , says a prayer wishing him good health , prosperity and happiness and places a tilak on his forehead to symbolise a bond of protection .

The brother promises to take care of his sister and gives a special gift to her in return. To share the joy of this occasion AMARJYOTI SARASWATI VIDHYALAYA had celebrated Rakshabandhan on 25th August. The students of 12th Commerce had planned the assembly programme specially on occasion of ‘Rakshabandhan’.

A speech was delivered by them on the ‘Rakshabandhan’. The students of all classes had tied rakhi  to their brothers . The ceremony was traditionally started by putting a tilak on the forehead. Even the teachers tied rakhis . The delightful scene while the tieing of Rakhi was captured and the smiles lit up the atmosphere.
