Visit the Railway Station & the Post office at AJSV ICSE/ISC 2015

Wise people have said that “Knowledge is power”. We, at Amarjyoti Saraswati Vidhyalaya, believe in the same prophecy, and hence to aid the knowledge bank of our Little wonders, they were taken on an education trip to the railway station and the Post office. Railway transport and Post office is one of the primary modes of transportation and communication respectively, it is necessary for the students to gain knowledge with respect to the functioning, planning, and execution. Mr. Prashant Maru organized the trip and got the necessary permissions that made the trip a success. We were accompanied by a few of our staff members viz. Mrs. NayanaBhatt, Mrs. Jignasha, Ms. Devyani Jhala, Mr. Prashant Maruand Mr. Jay Sharma.

We left the school at around 8:30 A.m. All the students were pretty excited about the trip. We reached the railway station at around 9:00 A.M. The students were taken to the platform where they observed different tracks, railway carriages, different stalls, etc. A railway instructor joined us and explained to students how the railway station is managed and operated. The instructor was kind enough to let the students enter a train and see it from the inside. The instructor explained to the students about the different departments and how they work is decentralized between the departments. After the knowledge session at the Railway Station, the students were then taken to the post office.

We reached the Post Office at around 10:0 A.m. The students formed a queue and entered the facility. Owing to the absence of the Instructor, the Head postmaster agreed to give a tour of the post office and enlighten the students about the processes and execution part of the post office. The students were shown different departments of the post office and were explained how the letter that is posted in one area/city/state reaches the receiver. They were very proud of, how they served the Indian Society and it indeed is a noble cause.

The postmaster gave information about various schemes that were started by the government and the students really took interest in it. There were a few questions being asked from the student’s side which were gracefully answered by the Postmaster. They were generous enough to distribute toffees amongst the students which gave a big smile on their faces. Finally, the knowledge gaining session came to an end and we left for the school and reached back at around 11:00 A.m.

It was quite an enriching experience for the students as well as the teachers who joined us for the trip. It would have definitely given a boost to the knowledge bank of our curious kids.
