Nikki Parikh 2nd Position in Frank Anthony Debate Competition ICSE/ISC

On Friday, 16 July 2016, two students from Amarjyoti Saraswati International School along with their English Teacher Mr. Shailesh Khuman, went to participate in the Frank Anthony Memorial Inter-School Debate Competition 2016 at Nalanda International School, Baroda.

There were in all 8 schools participating in the competition and every participating school had sent their best speakers. There were students from some of the most reputed ICSE schools from around Gujarat.

Nikki Parikh (class 12) and Kshitij Jain (class 11) represented our school and they spoke exceedingly well given that it was their first-hand experience for such a state-level debate competition.

The topic for the debate was ‘ The selfie craze today is killing the privacy in our lives’. Each student spoke for four minutes after which there was a 2-minute rebuttal round which too was very impressive as the students fired a volley of questions on their opponents.

It was a treat to watch all the participants speak so vehemently and so effectively for and against the given topic. In spite of being given only an hour to prepare for the topic, they all managed to give their best shot and in the end, the winners were declared.

S N Kansagra School, Rajkot took away the best speakers Team award along while Nikki Parikh from our school was awarded the runner up speaker award. It was the first time that any student from our school had won this award from this state-level competition organized by the council every year.

Congratulations to all the winners…
