National Sports Day Celebration | August 2022

The Wizard of hockey, Major Dhyan Chand’s life and achievements are celebrated as the National Sports Day in India every year on August 29. Major Chand raised the bar for all hockey players by winning gold thrice at the Olympics and taught us the value of fitness in our lives.

To pay our tribute to the legendary player on his 117th birth anniversary this year, we planned to involve all the parents as well and what a great idea that turned out to be! We kicked off with a tug o’ war and musical chair between parents that attended the Sport’s Day followed by nail-biting football and tug of war matches between: 6A Vs 6B, 7A Vs 7B & 8A Vs 8B.

The children of class 1 & 2 joined us on the field to flaunt their athleticism by participating in the Sack race and the Lemon & spoon race. The day would not be complete without awarding the champions for their hard work and determination, who were gilded with medals and certificates. This brought us to the end of the gathering, but we could see the same excitement and elation in the eyes of all the kids, from cheerleaders to sportsmen.
