Live Demonstration on Disaster Management | January 2023
Disaster is inevitable and we can only prepare ourselves on preparedness and respond during the time of emergencies. The Live Demonstration on Disaster Management had taken place at Amarjyoti Saraswati International School. Mr. Haresh Bhatt and the team from Wagh Bakri foundation Trust (Shishuvihar) very nicely explained how to rescue people in critical situations like fire, earthquake, flood, thunderstorm etc. using handy and quick materials. Mr Raju Makwana assisted Mr Haresh in all demos.
There was a live presentation of different types of lifting methods such as:
- Cradle
- Fireman lift
- Human crutch
- Pick a back
- Pick a back reverse
- Rescue crawl (fireman crawl)
- Bowline
- Toe dug
- Two hand sheet
- Three hand sheet
- Four hand sheet
- Four-and-a-half sheet
- Motorcycle lift
- Cycle lift
The further demo was on the rescue by making use of a ladder:
- Fireman lift
- Sliding stretcher by two ladder
- Sliding ladder method
- Sliding stretcher by one leader
- Ladder inch method
- Ladder leaning
- Two and four-point suspension
- Chair note
- Two parallel
- Flying fox
- Zipline
Mr. Haresh also presented how to prepare a stretcher with available materials like a t-shirt and sticks, rope and ladder, carpet stretcher, stretcher with sack bag, belt stretcher, stretcher from blanket etc. After the rescue training sessions, the importance of first aid and how it saves lives was explained and demonstrated.
Accidents are not known things. The above presentation prepared the students on how to overcome such events. In future, if anything occurs, our school children will be able to easily and quickly take the someway out to fight against such disasters.
