Kalam Tujhe Salam Celebration By ASIS Group Student ICSE/ISC

Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen “A. P. J.” Abdul Kalam ; (15 October 1931 – 27 July 2015) was the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007., Kalam was born and raised in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, and studied physics and aerospace engineering. He spent the next four decades as a scientist and science administrator. He thus came to be known as the Missile Man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology. He also played a pivotal organizational, technical, and political role in India’s Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.

Kalam was elected President of India in 2002 with the support of both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Indian National Congress. After serving a term of five years, he returned to his civilian life of education, writing, and public service. He was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.

Amarjyoti mam, the students and teachers fraternity offered their homage to this great leader by organizing a special assembly. A special prayer session was organized as a mark of respect. The motivational quotes given to the world by this great patriot were read out in this special assembly by the students of Silver Bells Public School and Amarjyoti Saraswati International School. Mr. Chakrapani principal SBPS addressed the gathering and spoke of many aspects from the life of APJ Abdul Kalam.

Students from both schools spoke about this great scientist and read out some of the wonderful quotes by this great patriot. A special oath was taken by the students where they promised to follow and imbibe all that is suggested by our former president. The students were motivated inspired and promised to make their contribution to make this world a better place.
