INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY was celebrated at ASIS group of schools with great enthusiasm. This day was initiated, pioneered, emphasized, and advocated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India. The program began in the presence of the honorable principals of all three institutions. The staff members, parents, guests, and the students seemed to be all set for the wonderful event.

Our honorable managing trustees Captain Kirit Sinhji Gohil and Mrs. Amarjyoti ba Gohil sent their message to the students and encouraged all to participate in the event. Principal Mr. Chakrapani Esterla was the guest of honor who preceded the program. The stage was beautifully decorated and the lush green lawn was the best place to celebrate this special day. The children were very excited and all geared up to be part of this big event.

Nearly 2500 Students from all three schools participated in the event. The children were from nursery to 12th standard. Every one performed various Asanas followed by Surya Namaskar pranayam and the Omkar chanting. Warm-up exercises were taken and all the students performed sitting and standing Asanas. The importance of these yogic Asanas was explained and the benefits of performing yoga were emphasized by the two Yoga teachers Mr. Jaisinh Sarvaiya and Ms. Jahanvi Mehta. Many benefits of regular yoga practice were clearly understood by the students. Regular yoga helps children remain fit and improve concentration. It helps students achieve a better life, physically, mentally, and spiritually as well. It has been rightly said that Yoga is that medicine that has the power to cure any disease of the Universe, even those which cannot be cured by the prescription of a doctor. We take pride in participating and organizing this special day on the campus.
