Extempore competition for Grade 5th

Amarjyoti Saraswati International School is celebrating the month of October as English month. Different events and competitions were held grade-wise under the guidance of English mentors. The main focus of the school has always been improving the soft skills amongst the students.

As a part of this celebration, Extempore competition was held for grade 5th on 27th October 2021. The objective of the competition was to make the students confident and better orators so that they can fearlessly express their views on any topic. Extempore is an excellent way to assist the students not only in spontaneous speaking but also in asserting their different idea with precision.

The highlight of the event was – The topics were given to the students and they had to speak for 2 minutes.

The topics were:
1.The food I love to eat the most.

  1. Love for my school.
  2. My childhood days.
  3. My Country
  4. My best friend
  5. Love for animals and birds.
  6. Importance of newspaper.
  7. My favourite sport.
  8. My family
  9. My favourite festival.

The speakers spoke eloquently on the topic. The speech delivered by each student was mind blowing. They represented themselves in an excellent manner, with confidence, no stage fear, the pronunciation and vocabulary used was marvelous.

To judge the competition Ms Pusha and Ms Padmaja were invited. Students were judged on the criteria of content, fluency, vocabulary, voice modulation and body language. The judges found it very taxing to find the best students out of 28 participants.Although it was a difficult task to judge, but every competition has the winners. So here the winners are

The competition concluded successfully with the great words of encouragement and appreciation from both the respected judges.
