Celebration of World Heritage Day 2019 ICSE/ISC Student

Modernization and technology have entered, transformed, and gripped all spheres of life. There are positive and negative effects of this drastic transformation. Cultural continuity in social attitudes and customs are also changing and are not taken care of in terms of preserving it without being contaminated. Traditional music is one predominant aspect that needs serious attention. SPIC MACAY is a society that promotes Indian Classical Music and culture amongst the youth. This Organization enriches the quality of formal education by increasing awareness about different aspects of Indian heritage and inspiring the students the young generation to instill and imbibe the values embedded in it.

ASIS accepted the proposal and invited SPIC MACAY to organize a musical program in our school on the 18th of April 2019. Two of their maestro Pt. Rupak Kulkarni (Flautist) and Shri Sapan Anjaria (Tabalist) performed in the utmost appreciable way mesmerizing the audience for two hours.

There was a bit of conversation with the artists and the students on music. Amarjyoti Madam and principal Rajendarsinh Gohil graced the occasion with their solicitous presence.

Where traditional music is diminishing, programs like this can give an impetus to bring back the original form of music.
