ASIS Group Creative Activity 2014 for Std 3rd To 5th ICSE/ISC

On 6th September the Amarjyoti International School had organized an activity for STD I and II. The main objective for keeping this activity was to develop the ability to think and organize the thinking to create something useful from the thing which children feel is of no use to them. We also wanted to create awareness among students to use the waste products in the best possible ways. So keeping this in mind we have organized activity of making paperweight from the stone.

PAPERWEIGHT– A paperweight is a small object which is placed on top of papers to keep the papers from blowing in the breeze.

The first paperweight was actually introduced in France in about 1845, but its popularity rises in the middle of the twentieth century.

If we put stone as such it can serve the purpose of paperweight but want to look nice but decorative stone paperweight fit easily into the hand, so we decided to decorate the stone as it would serve the purpose in a better way to make something new and useful.

Our kids were very happy and enthusiastic while decorating the stone. They were finding it amusing as they have never thought it before that from a stone something useful can be made. Seeing the faces and expressions of our kids we thought that our purpose is fulfilled.

When our teachers and heads took round and saw the kid’s creative involvement in decorating stone, they were also very surprised and found it a creative activity.
