{"id":167,"date":"2018-10-06T06:39:49","date_gmt":"2018-10-06T06:39:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/theasis.org\/ajsv\/?p=167"},"modified":"2018-11-10T09:35:58","modified_gmt":"2018-11-10T09:35:58","slug":"gandhi-jayanti-celebration-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theasis.org\/ajsv\/2018\/10\/06\/gandhi-jayanti-celebration-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Gandhi Jayanti Celebration \u2013 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>\u201cYou must be the change you wish to see in the world\u201d<\/h1>\n<p><strong>\u00a0&#8211; Mahatma Gandhi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>October 2<sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0marks the birth anniversary of\u00a0<strong>Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi<\/strong>\u00a0and is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti across the country.The United Nations also celebrates October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence to honour Gandhi\u2019s belief in peace and non-violence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>150<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi<\/strong>\u00a0was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the school campus. A devotional ambience prevailed with meaningful prayer by the choir team. Audio clip of one of Gandhiji\u2019s motivational speech was played and based on that the host asked questions to invoke mass participation.\u00a0 This was followed by the speech given by students of ASIS about this great freedom fighter of our country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To add to the colour of the day the choir group sang <strong>Gandhiji\u2019s favourite bhajan \u201cRaghupati Raghav Raja Ram\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>To uphold the spirit of patriotism, value of non- violence, students of SBPS performed a fascinating and heart touching dance on Vaishnav Jaan to \u2026\u2026.. -Class 10 student of SBPS used this platform to sensitize the fellow students about Gandhiji\u2019s views on cleanliness and delivered a speech in Hindi highlighting the mission started by Shri Narendra Modi on Swacha Bharat Abhiyan \u2013 Clean India Mission in 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under this programme, all the students of 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 9th of SBPS participated and even teachers were the essential part of this drive. As a part of this Cleanliness Drive, we had to clean the whole school. Some of us picked brooms and started our job. Some of the students did the dusting of the rooms. And others went to the play ground and started picking wrappers lying scattered there. After collecting them they threw them in to the dustbins.
