Rakshabandhan<\/strong> is a very special occasion which strengthens the intimate bonding between a brother and sister . Traditionally the ceremony is not over , till you sweeten the occasion with a mithai. The sister ties the sacred thread (Rakhi ) around the wrist , says a prayer wishing him good health , prosperity and happiness and places a tilak on his forehead to symbolise a bond of protection .<\/p>\n The brother promises to take care of his sister and gives a special gift to her in return. The students of all classes had tied rakhi\u00a0 to their brothers . The ceremony was traditionally started by putting a tilak on the forehead. Even the teachers tied rakhis .
